I have been a fan marina and the diamonds froot album download Marina for a while and couldn't wait to hear this. It's quite different from her earlier albums. It was, for me, a 'grower'; I thought it was okay for the first few listens and suddenly I was hooked; now I think it's fabulous.

The first time I truly listened to the lyrics from the opening track, 'Happy', I actually shed a tear. I don't know if she was writing about depression but I have recovered from chronic depression in the last year and the lyrics really spoke to me. And I love the lyrics and production on 'Froot', it's such a clever and original song. I think those two are my favourite tracks but I think the whole album's great, no filler. The first 5 songs are perfect pop delivered with a sultry and seductive voice and harmonies that come from another place.

Then all of a sudden Froot makes a turn towards an unexpected, experimental and eventually darker realm which could impair its viability as a smash hit record. It is not commercial or fashionable pop, it therefore might not appeal to the large demographic her record company is aiming at right now. However it will certainly find its place in the pantheon of excellent recordings for years to come. It's that good. No fillers or weak points in this record, perhaps the lack of a chorus on "Gold" makes it a little less spectacular to my untrained ear compared to the rest of her material; on the other hand it serves the purpose of a nice interlude for the remaining material that flows with cohesive perfection.

With Froot Marina sheds away the skin of the aspiring pop star and assumes the one of a true artist. One person found this helpful. This is my 2nd Marina cd and it is another belter.

These tracks are more heavy on the bass sound like in drum and bass. There is also some beautiful use of electronic keyboards that drift over the music. As ever Marina's voice soars to the clouds. It is like a painting being created in music. There are many layers of texture that come together to capture a sound painting. FROOT, I can't put into words how much I love this album. Happy opens the record that is such a beautiful song. I watched an interview Marina did and she said she purposely put Happy as her first track so she could get your ear to attention.

I have only recently become a fan of Marina but I love her! One of favorite songs on this album is 'Savages' the beat, the way she sings it and the lyrics and the message behind the song.

She talks about rape, wars, fighting and she can't be more right in the words she sings. I love the fact she wrote the whole album herself she is so talented.
